OSAA participates in Survey of vulnerable families in Herat
Organization for Sustainable Aid in Afghanistan- OSAA participates in humanitarian act of surveying the vulnerable families in 15 city districts of Herat. This survey started on April 19th 2020 through Food and Equipment Bank with the shared initiative of private and public sector like: Provincial Council, Chamber of Commerce and Investment, Department of Labor and Social Affairs and in cooperation with national and international NGOs. The process will continue until identification of all vulnerable families in Herat.
The main purpose of launching this survey at this time of crisis is to identify the pathology of the poverty situation and the urgent identification of poor and extremely vulnerable families, to meet the needs and to create a database for pleading of their future needs. The identified vulnerable families will be supported through the governor’s office’s Food and Equipment Bank.
Two of OSAA staff started working throughout the process, one as supervisor and one as surveyor, with a number of other I/NGOS surveyors. The process started with a three-day workshop on how to use the prepared application and how to properly implement the activity. On 22nd of April the actual survey started and OSAA introduced team will cooperate until the end of this process. During seven working days, 248 families were surveyed by our team. OSAA team hope that the people of Herat will cooperate with the survey until the end of this process, and without a doubt, all who work through this process will make every effort to achieve this endeavor.
