18th TVET and Employment Roundtable in Herat province

OSAA in cooperation with the Herat DOLSA and the Help Germany organization, continued to hold the 18th TVET and Employment Roundtable in the conference hall of DOLSA, under the title (Reviewing the findings and suggestions of TVET and Employment Roundtables; Achievements, Challenges and Suggested Solutions.

In this round table, head of DOLSA, deputy director of Help Germany organization and their Livelihood project manager, representatives of the trade union, various INGOs and NNGO active in the TVET sector (World Vision, RSDO, WASSA, WISE, DACAAR, UN-WFP, ACBAR and UNICEF) were participated.

The meeting began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Mr. Wakili, Job Facilitation Officer of EESC.

Mr. Hikmat, Program Manager of OSAA, while welcoming the guests, explained the objectives of this roundtable and its expected results. He added that OSAA always seeks to organize and integrate TVET activities in Herat province.

He reminded: The purpose of holding this roundtable is to review the findings and results of 17 previous roundtables in Herat province, which was initiated by OSAA in cooperation with DOLSA and Help Germany Organization. It is expected that at the end of this roundtable, participants will be able to understand the current situation and facilities for TVET programs in Herat and we will share the report of existing challenges along with the proposed solutions to the MOLSA through DOLSA and our international partners.

In accordance with the agenda, the representatives of the NGOs and private sector introduced themselves and their organization activities.

Mawlawi Ahmad Sabet, Head of the Department of Labor and Social Affairs of Herat Province (DOLSA) said that DOLSA created facilities for the continuation of the NGOs projects. He assured that there are no obstacles to the work of NGOs in all districts of Herat. Whenever any of NGOs faces any challenges or obstacles, the officials of DOLSA are determined to overcome them and implement solutions.

Mr. Mohammad Asif Foulad, Deputy Director of the Help Germany organization, said that holding TVET and Employment roundtables in Herat province was valuable and important. He expressed his hope for effective implementation of projects and better coordination of TVET activities.

Mr. Foulad assured that their organization has a full commitment to provide TVET services and support them in the future.

Mr. Faraidoon Hamidi, Livelihood Project Manager of the Help organization, described the summary of the roundtables and use of the results as a good step.

Mr. Ghulam Mahboub Timori, Finance Officer of OSAA, gave a presentation on the introduction of OSAA and its achievements over the past year, an overview of the topics discussed and the results of the previous 17 roundtables, current challenges and Suggested solutions.

Subsequently, the participants discussed the findings of previous TVET, the main challenges and suggestions of stakeholders.

Mr. Sebghatullah Habibi, representative of MDC Consortium from UNICEF, expressed his gratitude for the initiative of holding this roundtable, and asked for the coherence of the roundtable results, allocating the budget and turning it into a book. He added that it will become a useful guide in the field of TVET activities to share the lessons learned and the experiences of organizations.

After discussions, exchange of views and conclusions, the meeting ended with the prayer.
