Preface:
One of the important issues in society is to be aware of the rules, so it is necessary to hold training programs to increase information. Based on the need assessment of EESC team and upon request of dept. of labour and Social Affairs, held a two-day training session on labor law for employers in order to help employers, comply with labor laws.
Introduction of the program, organizations and stakeholders:
The two-day workshop, entitled “Labor Law”, was organized by Organization for Sustainable Aid in Afghanistan (OSAA) and cooperation with Department of Labor and Social Affairs. In order to prevent the spread of Covid-19 virus, this training was held with the participation of 12 employers of Herat province for two days 29 and 30 June 2020. Moreover, the labor law gazette was distributed among the training participant along with stationery.
The purpose of holding this training was to create a strong communication network between employers and Employment and Entrepreneurship Service Centre-EESC and to help employers implement the Afghanistan’s Labor law in their companies.
The first day of training program began with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Later on, Mr. Mustafa Wakili, EESC Job Facilitation Officer, provided information about the Employment & Entrepreneurship Service Center for employers. After that, the participants introduced themselves. In continue, the team distributed the pre-test assessment in order to find out how much they know about labor law. Then the training started by Mr. Zobair Rauf, HR & Job Relation Arrangement Manager of DoLSA on the bulletin of the Labor Law of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
On the second day, the program started with a review of the day before and the questions of the participants were answered. Employers needed the info about the holidays and work hours during Covid -19 spread according to Afghanistan’s Lab our law. The post-test was distributed.
Conclusion:
The final evaluation (post-test) shows that this training program has been effective with 42.6% increase in participants’ knowledge about the labor law. The participants took an active part in the training program for two days and became aware of the labor laws. At the end of the training program, the participants thanked OSAA, DoLSA and suggested that such training programs be held again in the future.
