OSAA Innaugrated an ablution house and toilet for the EQ-affected people in Parwana Village
Parwanah is one of the deprived, remote villages located in the Injil district of Herat. This village, with 698 families, is considered one of the largest villages in the Injil district. This village was heavily damaged during the Herat earthquake in October 2023. This issue, along with other problems, caused several families in this village to suffer in other aspects as well.
After the devastating Herat earthquake on October 9, 2023, the OSAA organization was with the affected people and, with the help of international organizations and friends, distributed humanitarian aid as much as possible to alleviate some of the people’s needs.
Fortunately, based on the humanitarian help and funds provided by the respected Farda Association, supported by Pamir Society SA, we were able to make two ablution houses for both males and females.
The construction process has been excellent and the quality of workmanship has been maintained at a high standard.
The opening ceremony and inauguration of the ablution center took place on Sunday, December 10, 2023, in the village of Parwana. In this ceremony, the leadership board and employees of OSAA, government representatives, local people, key people in the region, and a representative of the handover of public benefit projects were present. OSAA managing director Ms. Fareshtah Yaqoubi and the program manager appreciated the support of the Australian people and this community from the EQ-affected population in Herat Province.
Then, Mr. Ghulam Mahruf Sofizada expressed OSAA and donor happiness for the completion of the Ablution House construction for deprived villages like Parwana, and he also emphasized the continuation of the process of providing aid to the deprived areas.
Haji Abdul Karim Raoufi, Head of the Parwana Council and one of the white-haired, also spoke and expressed his gratitude to the Farda Association, supported by Pamir Society SA and OSAA.
He further emphasized that the location chosen for constructing the ablution center by the esteemed organizations OSAA and Farda Association was driven by a specific need. Near the ablution center, there was a clinic that faced significant challenges due to the lack of proper restroom facilities. This situation particularly affected sick individuals seeking medical care at the clinic. Moreover, people who had their restrooms destroyed by the earthquake will also benefit from this facility.
He also said that the lack of good and solid shelters, poverty, and the lack of educational conditions for overweight children are among the important issues that the people of this village need, and hopefully one of them has been solved.
